Météo-France's expertise in the field of climate has naturally positioned it as a precursor of weather and climate services. The institution puts its know-how at the service of citizens, technical organisations, businesses and decision-makers to provide them with information on past and future climate in a form adapted to their needs. The forecasting site meteofrance.com is one of the top 50 French sites. This site lets you access the weather information you need more simply and quickly. In 2019, it had an average of 1.5 million unique visitors each day, with an average time spent on the site of 3 minutes 15.

The meteofrance.com website plays a crossroads role in the digital ecosystem of Météo-France. Météo-France's consumer weather app puts all Météo-France's expertise at your fingertips, on Android and Apple smartphones. It is constantly improving to remain the best free weather app. It provides everyone with geolocalised forecasts, expert weather information, as well as the rain forecast within the hour. Of course, the app gives access to live weather alerts, with notifications to stay informed of risks.

▶ Climate HD: a new version in 2019

Aimed at the general public, this interactive app, unique in France and available on the Météo-France website, allows everyone to visualise, at the scale of their region as well as that of the whole country, the evolution of the past climate and its future changes!

▶ DRIAS, the future of the climate

Météo-France is in charge of the project management and development of the DRIAS, climate futures portal, a multi-agency portal, opened in July 2012, for which Météo-France, Cerfacs and IPSL provide regionalised climate projections.

▶ Overseas weather sites

For Reunion Island, Mayotte, New Caledonia, the French West Indies, French Polynesia and Saint-Pierre and Miquelon, Météo-France offers its own climate forecasting and information websites.

Sea and weather conditions sometimes change suddenly. Météo-France's expertise allows sea-borne users to practise their activities in safety. The establishment puts online forecasts and expert bulletins, front maps, tide schedules etc of the coastal zone from the seashore to the open sea, 20 miles from the coast.

▶ Mountain weather: practising winter sports safely

Météo-France supports mountain users in winter to allow them to enjoy the snow in complete safety. On the site and on the MétéoSki app, Météo-France delivers its forecasts and bulletins, massif by massif, as well as snow coverage in the resorts. ▶ Taméo

Developed with Arvalis, the Taméo platform, accessible on the go, is a complete tool for agricultural weather forecasting and multi-crop agronomic advice. Taméo integrates the weather, the stage of the crop, the risk of disease outbreaks and identifies the best intervention periods to fertilise, weed and protect the crop. Taméo provides expert weather forecasts for up to 9 days as well as spatialised observations at the scale of the agricultural plot.

▶ Extranets to support weather-sensitive services 

Météo-France assists economic players in weather-dependent sectors, transport, construction, energy, agriculture and local authorities by providing them with expert information as close as possible to their needs via extranets.
