Strategic partnerships to serve our missions

In meteorology and climatology, cooperation, whether scientific or strategic, is essential both operationally and in research and development. In 2019, Météo-France consolidated its links with various strategic partners.

On an operational level, Météo-France provides support to government services to ensure the safety of people and property and the management of natural, health and technological risks.

The scientific expertise of Météo-France is internationally renowned. The role of Météo-France extends both at the European level, within the various bodies that ensure the pooling and coordination of resources on a continental scale, and at the global level, through active participation in the activities of the World Meteorological Organisation (WMO). In Europe, Météo-France operates in cooperation with its counterparts in the use of meteorological satellites within Eumetsat, works with the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF) and the Eumetnet Economic Interest Grouping. The institution is also heavily involved in the European Copernicus programme for monitoring and surveillance of the Earth and its various ecosystems.
