Activity N°3

Climate, improving our knowledge

Research conducted by the National Meteorological Research Centre is at the heart of the institution's activities: it ensures the constant improvement of its operational tools and the quality of climate services. Météo-France's research teams develop digital weather and climate prediction models by relying on teams that are fully integrated into the French and European scientific community.

Thanks to some of the most efficient climate models in the world, Météo-France contributes to the fight against climate change by actively participating in the work of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC).

As a public establishment, Météo-France acts as a conduit and helps disseminate knowledge. The establishment makes all its public data available, enhances climate information and promotes climate science among citizens in order to respond to major societal issues. Météo-France also prepares future weather and climate experts, in France and around the world, at the National School of Meteorology in Toulouse.
